Deixis and their Manifestations in the Interpretation of the Qur’an. Examples of Surah Al-Anfal

Abstract

This research tries to benefit from the modern science of linguistics in
studying the Quranic discourse and its aprroaches to its interpretation. This
is done by applying one of the mechanisms of pragmatic and discourse
analysis on the interpretation of Surah Al-Anfal. The research extrapolates
the places of personal, temporal, spatial, social and discourse deixis and
attempts to interpret them and their references to which they refer. This is
done by referring to the various sources of the interpetation of the Quran
and the effect of this on determining the intended meaning and its
preference.
