Author Guidelines and Publication Policies

Ḍād  Journal of Arabic Linguistics and Literature welcomes original scholarly articles in the fields of linguistics, literature, and critical studies. The journal does not charge any publication fees. Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:


1. Originality and Independence

  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

  • Authors must submit a signed declaration confirming that the work is their own and free from plagiarism, duplication, or data fabrication.


2. Language of Publication

  • The journal accepts articles written in Arabic, and also welcomes submissions in Turkish or English.

  • All manuscripts must use clear, academic language and be free of grammatical, syntactic, and stylistic errors.


3. Manuscript Preparation

Each article must include:

  • Two abstracts: one in the article’s original language and one in English.

  • 4 to 6 keywords for each abstract.

Abstract requirements:

  • The Arabic abstract should not exceed 150 words.

File format:

  • Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format only.

Font and formatting:

  • Main text: Traditional Naskh, size 14.

  • Footnotes: Traditional Naskh, size 12.

  • Main title in Arabic: Sultan Medium, size 14.

  • Titles, abstracts, and keywords in English or Turkish: Simplified Arabic font.

  • Headings should follow a hierarchical numbering system (e.g., 1., 1.1., 1.1.1...).

  • Page size should be B5 with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

Figures and illustrations:

  • Complex figures should be grouped as a single object to preserve formatting integrity.

4. Citation and Referencing

The journal uses the footnote system for referencing. Please follow these guidelines:

▪ In-text footnotes:

  • For single-volume works:

    Al-Burhān: 132.

  • For multi-volume works:

    Al-Burhān: 2/135.

  • For Qur’anic verses:

    Surah Al-Baqarah: 2/35.

▪ Footnote formatting:

  • Footnotes must be inserted automatically using the Word “Insert Footnote” feature.

  • Footnote numbers should appear in the text in superscript within parentheses, e.g., (1).

  • At the bottom of the page, the footnote number should also appear in parentheses and aligned with the text, e.g., (1).

▪ Full list of references:

  • Should be placed at the end of the article.

  • Must be alphabetically ordered (without numbering).

  • Should include all cited works, with no duplication or omission.

5. Peer Review

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by qualified scholars.

  • Authors will be notified of the review outcome within 30 days of submission.


6. Revisions

  • The editorial board reserves the right to make formal and linguistic corrections without altering the scientific content.

  • Authors are given a specified period to complete revisions requested by reviewers.


7. Copyright and Open Access Policy

  • The journal does not charge any publication or processing fees.

  • All published articles are released under an Open Access policy.

  • Non-commercial reuse is permitted with proper citation of the original source.

  • The journal uses the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

8. Publishing Ethics

  • The journal adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics.

  • Submissions involving plagiarism, duplication, falsification, or undisclosed conflicts of interest will be rejected.


9. Archiving Policy

Ḍād Journal is committed to permanent digital preservation of its content through:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): Secure and distributed archiving of all issues.

  • Local server backup: All issues are regularly backed up in a secure environment.

  • Institutional repositories: Authors are encouraged to deposit their published articles in their institution’s repository.

  • Compatibility with international archiving systems: The journal supports integration with LOCKSS, Internet Archive, and similar platforms for additional reliability.

Authors are kindly requested to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting their articles. Failure to comply may result in technical rejection before the peer review process begins.
