The Term (Paratexts) In Modern Critical Studies

Abstract

In the past, the textual paratexts got no attention from the critical studies that directly link to the textual text. Recently, they get a lot of precedence from many of the modern critics in the theoretical and practical sides. where they gained an important role not less than the original text.  They became an essential component of any literary text, where it is a mistake to ignore or skip them.

The concept of the text paratexts has a wide comprehension that is not limited to certain paratexts, but its formats can be diverse and multiple.  Nevertheless, there are paratexts represent the main forms within the paratexts’ types, mainly in the title, cover, headlights, presentation, and introduction.  In this work, we will comprehend two concepts; first, the comprehension of the term, and second, the difference and disparity in the translation of the Arab translators that deal with the term.
