Textual Coherence in Hadith of Umm Zar`

Abstract

The research is aimed at enriching the interpretations of the hadith and the analytical studies thereon by exposing the means of textual coherence in the Hadith of Umm Zar` and benefiting from modern linguistic theories and literature while preserving the genuine Arabic heritage achievements we have inherited. The research touches on the means of syntactical cohesion therein such as the article reference and conjunction and the ellipsis. Then, the research addresses the means of lexical cohesion therein which are materialized in repetition, combination, or lexical collocations. The research has reached that  the means of syntactical and lexical cohesion contributed to the cohesion of the text structure, conjugation, and coherence and they contributed to unifying the semantic function in the Hadith of Umm Zar` as regards the focus on the main subject matter of the noble hadith.
