General Linguistics aims to study language as a structure formed of different levels: phonemic, morphological, Syntax, lexical and semantic. But it became, in applied aspect (didactics of languages) including Arabic, a very important in contemporary linguistic thought. So, what is the meaning of applied linguistics and didactics? What is the relationship between them? We seek in the book of “Didactic Applied Linguistics, Past and Present,” by Abdelkader Shaker, published by Dar Al-Wafaa for the World of Printing and Publishing, Alexandria (Egypt), in a first edition, in 2016 CE, to study it.
