Language and Emotion in Arabic: A Linguistic and Cultural Approach

ignificant in that it seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between language and emotion by revealing the role of language in shaping human experience. It also contributes to enhancing intercultural communication by offering a broader perspective on the expression of emotions. In addition, the study explores the linguistic richness of emotional expression in Arabic. It focuses on analyzing linguistic expressions of emotion in Arabic, examining the impact of cultural and social contexts on such expressions, and highlighting the role of rhetoric and symbolism in emotional discourse. The study is based on two main hypotheses: first, that emotional expression in Arabic is shaped by cultural and social contexts; and second, that Arabic speakers make extensive use of symbolism and rhetorical devices to express emotion. To achieve these aims, the study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach. It is divided into two main sections and the conclusion summarizes the main findings
